ABB is seeking Sales & Marketing Manager, Force Measurement for its Danbury, Connecticut location. You will be accountable for defining and implementing the sales and marketing strategies inside the relevant market; ensuring that the complete portfolio of force measurement grows and we substantially increases sales, margins, market share and customer satisfaction in the targeted markets.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for creating, planning and implementing the marketing and sales mission, vision and strategy for the defined area, as well as budget and efficiency targets.
Leads the definition of the local force measurement sales team.
Agrees with the Hub Service Manager key sales targets (e.g. volume, prices, portfolio mix) and establishes appropriate metrics to monitor performance.
Proactively anticipates results and identifies gaps in order to take early remedial action and ensure these targets are achieved.
Responsible for achieving assigned order intake, margin and related objectives for the entire product portfolio.
Assists with the PG manager the evaluation of potential new and existing markets and their needs, and ensures proactive sales approach with a focus on solutions and value creation.
Oversees market, competitive analysis and market segment definition activities.
Ensures the market is well monitored by developing, maintaining and effective usage of efficient marketing and sales tools.
Customer relations and satisfaction
Develops relationships with key stakeholders.
Responsible for planning and implementing customer surveys, analyzing and acting on the results in order to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Volume, profit, price and cost
Oversees the local sales team that identify, monitor and maintain/exceed the sales market price levels, evaluating with Product Management pricing impact on the results.
Develops, implements and reviews sales processes and related tools, and all relevant training and development plans, actions and programs.
People leadership and development
Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Improves sales competence and talent development.
Coaches, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies. Drives and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
Responsible for $15+ million annual sales generation including marketing efforts to support
Lead a sales team of 4+ direct reports/ account managers
Serves as Metals Industry go to market expert
Force measurement products and services, will require up to 50% travel time
Four year accredited degree and a minimum of 12 years relevant experience within sales, marketing, contract management, engineering, and/or product management supporting manufacturing production .
Bachelors degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience with Sales and Marketing within a Manufacturing environment.
Previous experience selling into Metals/ Mini - Mills/ Steel Mill industry with specific knowledge in Force measurement instrumentation .
Previous experience leading a Sales/ Marketing team with proven success of building out a sales division.
International business experience
Basic knowledge in Finance & Accounting, understanding market and customer interface
Proven success with leadership and people & change management
Fluent English, good communication & presentation skills

Candidates residing in US with work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
