POSITION SUMMARYTo dramatically improve its relationships with hospitals, physicians and other providers, Aetna has established five joint ventures with leading hospital systems across the United States. Its mission is to develop mutually beneficial partnerships between Aetna and key providers that enable their transformation from a hospital factory to a clinically integrated supplier of high quality, cost-efficient healthcare, and transform the member/patient experience.Working with the Head of JV Integrated Experience, the Product Manager, Integrated Experience will contribute to the growth of this transformative model by identifying, designing, developing, and commercializing innovative strategies and solutions that will dramatically improve and differentiate the experience for JV members. This will be accomplished by evaluating the unique opportunities available operating as a joint payer and provider focused in a local market. The role is responsible for executing both upstream product activities (product strategy, roadmap definition, partnership/M&A execution) and downstream activities (driving requirements from customers/user groups, experience design, and overseeing implementation) necessary to deliver on the JV differentiation roadmap. The Product Manager will have a special focus on the Pay and Manage Finances phase of the consumer journey, with the objective of reimagining the healthcare consumer financial experience Fundamental Components:Strategy Definition:Executes quantitative and qualitative market research and identifies cross industry best practices to define innovations that would remove friction between payers, providers, and consumers to simplify the healthcare financial experience and reduce administrative waste.Supports ideation efforts for development of new concepts and accompanying business cases by collaborating with internal/external stakeholders and leveraging in-depth knowledge of market trends, customer needs, and internal capabilities Supports prioritization of concepts into annual operating plans and strategic roadmaps, secures buy-in from each JV leadership team on the prioritization of Pay and Manage Finances initiatives with an emphasis on identifying any cross-JV priority initiativesContinuously monitors the relevant products and services of competitors and enhancement requests from JVs and key stakeholders to ensure the strategy and feature development backlog align with emerging market trendsWorks effectively across Aetna and JV Partners business areas by cultivating strong relationships and identifying cross-functional and enterprise-level support to advance JV strategic roadmapsManages appropriate JV governance committees including development of key materials to ensure JV leadership and key partners are regularly updated on progress, risks/issues, and change controls activities (scope, budget, timeline) Solution Development:For concepts developed via partnership, conducts market scans to identify solution partner, gains senior leadership buy-in across JV, Aetna, and Provider Partners of preferred partner, executes diligence and assists in negotiation of partnershipFor integrated payer/provider solutions, work closely with the provider partner contact(s) to secure alignment, commitment to timelines, and access to resourcesActs as the product owner throughout the development lifecycle by completing solution design, business requirements, buyer/user validation, and overseeing solution development Commercialization:Partners with sales and marketing to develop the promotion strategy, competitive positioning, and pricing model when applicable for new enhancements/productsServes as SME and support go-to-market activities BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:Passion for transforming the experience of healthcare consumers by breaking new ground and launching innovative digital solutions3-5 years of healthcare product management/development experience, experience in healthcare revenue cycle management or consumer financial services a plusStrong understanding of how healthcare dollars flow through the system, with an emphasis on claims adjudication and provider billing lifecycle Strong quantitative skills with ability to structure, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and draw logical conclusions; propensity toward supporting hypothesis with strong quantitative and qualitative evidence; financial modeling experience is a plusDemonstrates effective business acumen and strategic thinkingExcellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence various constituents and drive initiatives that deliver a positive impact to the member/patients experience Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to lead complex initiatives through a highly matrixed environment, requiring the participation and support of multiple business areasComfort with ambiguity and ability to create a process where one doesnt exist and deliver resultsProficiency across Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint, and advanced visualization tools Education and Certifications: Bachelors required, with a focus in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferredMBA or Masters preferred, with a focus in healthcare EDUCATIONThe highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
