Careers Overview

The Continuous Improvement Leader will direct the implementation of structured improvement processes to ensure strategic, operational and tactical improvements are realized throughout the Cambrex Whippany site. The position will insure improvement projects directly improve EBITDA and follow rigorous/thoughtful change management discipline to insure all stakeholder needs are managed appropriately. Scope will include both transformational and incremental improvement projects in the following areas: inventory management, production, testing, business processes and engineering initiatives.

  • Coordinates and Leads in Continuous Improvement Projects at the Whippany site
  • Works with site business functions to drive cost saving initiatives, tracks progress, maintains summary report while driving to targeted savings
  • Collaborates with leadership cross-functionally to ensure effective execution of improvement projects and realization of EBITDA impact.
  • Tracks and reports site KPIs, works with business functions to enhance performance measurement, feedback, and communication within those functions.
  • Collects and analyzes information from the shop floor to help to identify areas of opportunity and improvement.
  • Fosters communication and best practices sharing between departments and sites.
  • Follows up on all processes and identifies areas of opportunity and improvements, proposing and implementing changes to increase process and equipment efficiency as well as cost savings/reductions.
  • Contributes to create value stream map of relevant processes.
  • Trains with Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and other disciplines.
  • Facilitates continuous improvement projects such as Kaizen Events, Gemba Walks, and use of other LSS tools and methodologies.
  • Drives cultural and business initiatives to eliminate waste through all levels of the Whippany site.
  • Collaborates with customers and project teams to drive process improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications
  • Eager to use, share, and train staff on LSS tools
  • Team player, excellent communication skills
  • LSS Black Belt required with a track record of delivering savings
  • Experience with change management
  • Able to work with MS Office, MS Project, and Visual Arts Project
  • Must be able to move about the facility
  • Must be able to remain sedentary for periods of time
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment
  • Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university), LSS Black Belt
  • 7+ years in Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry
