Summary: The New Business Development (NBD) Representative is accountable for the acquisition of new profitable customers. The NBP Rep excels at prospecting, generating leads and closing deals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop an intimate understanding of the customer's business using a variety of sources and identify and explore all opportunities

  • Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts with new customers that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets
  • Manages a territory with specific targeted prospective customers
  • Own and drive the entire sales cycle to attain new business
  • Prospect for potential customers using various methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking
  • Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers and sales
  • Consult with prospect about business challenges and requirements
  • Develop and maintain territory plans which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis
  • Disciplined daily managing/updating of leads, prospects and opportunities in CRM
  • Keep detailed notes on prospect and customer interactions
  • Work with marketing to plan and execute lead generation campaigns
  • Be a positive representative of the company and its brand in the marketplace
  • Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity

Qualifications:

  • At least 3-7 years of success within sales and business development
  • A hunter who enjoys driving revenue and generating new business
  • Accountable and results-oriented team player with a commitment to achieving goals
  • Proven track record of opening new doors and establishing new partnerships
  • Must possess valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Proper sense of urgency with all levels of management, peers, and customers
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to communicate and correspond with customers, co-workers, and management effectively in English; Multi-lingual capabilities a plus

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially with Microsoft Excel.
