This position encompasses all aspects of Strategic Planning Business Development while also developing and implementing the division's strategy to ensure the achievement of the division's revenue, profit, and growth goals. The individual in the role will provide leadership and oversight for various programs (business development, M&A, competitive intelligence, market research), etc.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

+ Strategic Planning

+ Owns & drives the division strategy planning process and deep dive presentations

+ Responsible for the strategic planning, annual business plan & performance tracking & accountability for the division

+ Leads prioritization of division strategic issues and applies rigorous analysis to develop recommended actions for decisions

+ Interacts with CLS VP/GM and Senior Leadership Team in a manner that ensures rigorous analysis and sound recommendations necessary for decision-making

+ Conduct analyses of emerging markets, including market opportunity, business case, and potential business structures.

+ Improve the quality, breadth, and speed of strategic decisions by incorporating advanced analytic tools, process rigor and appropriate cross functional participation

+ Quantitative and Financial Analysis in market forecasting and competitive intelligence

+ Defines requirements and drives best practice market and competitive data and analysis relative to life sciences industry trends, supply chain dynamics and OEM health; interprets impact to division and develops counter-strategy

+ Market Strategy:

+ Oversees development of compelling market value propositions for the division that differentiates CLS in the life sciences space.

+ Provides division leadership with critical market or customer information to make product development and portfolio decisions.

+ Assesses the business development portfolio for the division to ensure achievement of the division's strategic objectives.

+ Develops a market view of the division's products and technology based on a detailed understanding of industry, customer, and competitor trends, demands, developments, and predictions.

+ Defines the target markets and, if appropriate, channels strategies for the division's products and technology and segments customers within the target markets based on their needs and potential value to Corning.

+ Merger and Acquisitions:

+ Manages completion of legwork for potential deals, make recommendations to the Sr. CLS and Corning Leadership accordingly.

+ Support complex deals by evaluating financial reports, company operations, overall company value within the Corning space.

+ Leads due diligence of potential investments to confirm all facts and ensure the purchase will meet the needs of the business.

+ Evaluates fit and risk within the company portfolio

+ Managers investment partners to consider offer and other pertinent recommendations.

Travel Requirements:

+ Domestic and international travel <50%

Required Education:

+ Master of Business Administration

+ Advanced degree in Bio Sciences

Required Years and Area of Experience:

+ 5~10 years' experience in strategy, marketing, operations or business development

+ 8 - 10 years in Life Sciences industry

+ Managing in a difficult business environment

Required Skills:

+ Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing strategic recommendations

+ Strong analytical skills (including financial analysis) and affinity for process rigor

+ Deep knowledge of life sciences, biologics, etc.

+ Ability to create alignment and action plans to support strategies

+ Can work across Manufacturing, Commercial, & Technology to drive results

+ Growth mindset - demonstrated results

+ Strong executive level presentation & writing competency

+ Credible with executives and peers

+ Thought-provoking and willing to challenge thinking
