The North America Product Manager - Consumables is responsible for ownership & development of Videojet's NA consumables product line within a matrix organization. In direct coordination with NA consumables sales team & global business unit management, this individual will ensure growth, profitability, and strategic leadership of all NA consumables offerings. This role includes market and pricing strategy, product plan development, and execution. The objective is to maximize the long-term growth and profitability of these products through the planning and execution of strategic market driven enhancements as a core vehicle for growth.

Product planning

+ VOC - Maintain deep understanding of the market, customers, competitors, and technologies to provide market segmentation and analysis. Ability to listen to customers, clearly separate perception from fact/data and execute winning plans and strategies to drive customer preference. Develop overall product / offerings and go-to-market strategy and execute it by launching new products / offerings and managing existing products / offerings for growth. Specify and define winning New Products / Offerings by developing VOC plans, collecting, analyzing and interpreting VOC data.

+ Competitor and market analysis - Capture, analyze and present competitor and market data (trends, pricing, segment news) in North America.

+ New product / offerings development - Work with local NA team, Global Product Planning/Business Management, Service and Marketing to evaluate and design / enrich offers that are valued by customers and drive higher retention & regain of consumables with VJ customers. Create marketing product specifications, socialize and train sales team.

Product line core growth

+ Product leadership - Drive product line revenue growth and operating profit. Define, deliver, and communicate the value of our products / offerings to support the NA consumable sales organization. Work with local NA team, Product Planning, Regional Product Mgmt. and Marketing teams to ensure superior market analysis, customer needs-based segmentation, VOC, deep competitive analysis and insight, value mapping, and product development to offer a comprehensive, materially differentiated product portfolio. Bet on the right product/offering innovations to invest in order to sustain superior offerings to our customers. Develops forecasts for sales of new products /offerings and manages actual sales to meet or exceed the forecast

+ Product positioning and value selling - Work with local NA team, Regional Product Mgmt., Marketing, and Sales to drive the success of new product / new offering launches, ensuring revenue achievement, volume growth, share gain, and profitability improvement. Leads cross-functional problem solving when performance is not meeting targets

+ Line change/end of life management - Work with Global Supplies BUM on project management of product line / SKU obsolescence, to include: developing action plans and managing to timelines; ensuring supply & share position maintenance through transition; supply chain and inventory management/disposition and; support of marketing for communication strategies and execution.

+ Product line promotion - Work with Marketing & NA Digital Manager to ensure superior product line branding and brand architecture, representation via phone, email & online

Product line profitability

+ Price management - Partner with the NA Consumables sales & Global Pricing team to drive pricing strategy, monitor price performance by product and customer segmentation, and implement necessary pricing actions. Ensure consumables sales team knows how to value sell against competition.

+ Installed base management and optimization

+ Retention - ensure organization and processes are in place to deliver the highest possible installed base retention. Lead cross-functional efforts to successfully countermeasure retention threats to our installed base.

+ Profitability - Ensure organization and processes are in place to deliver optimal supplies, and parts profitability. Lead cross-functional efforts to successfully countermeasure threats to supplies and parts profitability.
