You may apply with other resume formats, but system conversion issues can expand the document beyond intended length.Click 'Learn more about this agency' for more informationResponsibilitiesServe as the Speechwriter/Senior Writer for the Director of the Army National Guard and provides speechwriting support to the Deputy Director, Special Assistants of the ARNG Directorate, and personally designated representatives.Research and write a variety of written products, including articles, reports, speeches, testimony, talking points, video production scripts, training material, press releases, special projects, and other products tailored to the needs of the ARNG.Ensure correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, and format and accuracy of information - evaluates documents in terms of purpose, audience, scope, content, organization, and logic.Maintain awareness of current government writing and reporting style and format requirements, and works directly with appropriate officials to resolve questions about guidance content and technical application.Develop, coordinate, and monitor ARNG Office of Public Affairs concepts, doctrine and policy regarding Public Affairs.Recommend strategies for all aspects of the ARNG public affairs program and establish standards for the development and evaluation of public affairs activities throughout the agency.Develop strategic communication messages or ensure existing messages for the organization are incorporated into every type of medium and product.Perform research, rewrite, or adjust speeches on short notice to organize, balance and apply a consistent sense of style, grammar, and flow to the finished product to accommodate changing message goals and objectives.Travel RequiredOccasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.Supervisory statusNoPromotion PotentialNoneRequirements Conditions of EmploymentAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
