The Business Consultant will analyze and report on Medicaid claims, related financial, Provider, and Member data, for support of the State of Rhode Islands Medicaid operations activities.
The Business Consultant will handle all forms of ad-hoc data requests from concept to completion, by contributing to report generation, visualization, and deliver actionable insights. This individual will interpret and analyze healthcare data from various sources and recommend best approaches for analyzing data for a given business goal.
The Business Consultant will be part of a small team located within the clients offices. The Business Consultant will possess a professional consultant mindset and demeanor, and be adept at keeping things running smoothly in a fluid environment. The Business Consultant will be comfortable establishing direction and priority for themselves as well as the team as a whole.
Normalizes and transforms data to as per the customer requirements
Able to quickly understand data models and data structures.
Capable of spotting new patterns, trends and anomalies within data.
Able to develop recommendations based upon data analysis, to help client leaders understand new possibilities to transform the business and strategic initiatives.
Evaluate, recommend, and optimize the right data transformation methods to support customer needs
Provide thought leadership and contribute to expanding the knowledge base within the team, which includes exploring new methods, techniques and criteria for normalizing and transforming data.
Demonstrate a confident demeanor and work management style which leaves the client with a feeling of confidence in the employee and the DXC team.
At least 7 years working experience as a data analyst in a data warehouse environment. Consulting background is a plus.
Bachelors and Masters degree in disciplines such as or similar to: Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Biostatistics & Medical Informatics, Management Information Systems or Statistics and related disciplines.
Strong experience with SQL, and comfort writing complex queries. Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Oracle data models are plusses.
Must work onsite at the State of Rhode Islands offices.
