Description:
The Part Time External Relations Coordinator is part of a team of professionals who assist undergraduate and graduate students with career development. We support students in developing and pursuing career-related goals and obtaining and maximizing meaningful practical experiences. We provide services that help students explore, prepare, connect and share. Additionally, we provide support to the goals and initiatives of our employer and campus partners, as we view their work as parallel to our own.

Reporting to the Director of External Relations, the Part Time External Relations Coordinator assumes responsibility for supporting the development of strong relationships with organizations wishing to hire Hofstra students in full-time, part-time, shadowing and internship capacities. The External Relations Coordinator will assist with researching and identifying potential employer partnerships within historically underserved fields, responding to employer inquiries, and conducting initial outreach to potential employer partners.

The External Relations Coordinator will also work with colleagues in planning and marketing special events and programs focused on connecting students with employers, including, but not limited to: career fairs, networking events, employer site visits and employer tabling activities.

The External Relations Coordinator will maintain contact with students and faculty in collaboration with the Director of External Relations to better understand the career desires of the Hofstra student body.

Extended hours may be required on an as needed basis, including evening, and occasional early morning and weekend assignments.

Qualifications:
Master's degree and related experience in career center employer relations, college recruiting, higher education administration, human resources or closely related experience preferred. The Candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience. Candidate will be skilled in developing and maintaining employer outreach and engagement with target industry areas. Candidate will have an established record of accomplishment promoting student development programs and cultivating positive relationships that cultivate comprehensive student-centered organization. Candidate will possess strong attention to detail. The candidate will possess the ability to coordinate traditional and non-traditional events that connect students to employers. Candidate will have a passion for and experience with working with students, employers, and colleagues of diverse backgrounds. Candidate will be comfortable with technology, knowledge of career management systems is preferred. Candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. The Candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. The candidate will have a collaborative disposition and possesses the ability to think both critically and strategically. Candidate have possess flexibility, resiliency, and creativity.
