Boston GLASS (Gay & Lesbian Adolescent Social Services) opened in 1995, as one of the country s earliest community centers specifically serving young people of color in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. In addition to the Drop-In Center, where youth have access to computers, support groups, food and supplies, and social events, Boston GLASS offers a continuum of services including behavioral health counseling, case management, HIV/STI testing and counseling, mentorship, youth leadership development, community education. The program is designed to serve LGBTQ youth of color who are at risk for HIV/STIs, homelessness, family disruption, violence, commercial sexual exploitation, dropping out of school, suicidal behavior, and lack of access to healthcare, among other things.
