GENERAL FUNCTION An integral member of the Sunglass Hut executive team, the Vice President of Business Development will be a leader with proven consulting and P&L leadership experience with success in identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities to drive revenue and profit growth. Skilled in internal consulting, building cross-functional teams, driving new business segments and improving productivity to more effectively leverage resources, this role will also identify potential business opportunities, assess viability and develop business models to drive store & business growth for Sunglass Hut. This leader will implement all approved new business initiatives while leading seasoned segment leaders into the next level of strategic thinking about existing and growth opportunities. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategically identify potential internal business growth opportunities for Sunglass Hut North America, in alignment with Sunglass Hut & Luxottica corporate. Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and executing external new business ventures to drive topline revenue, growth and profitability targets. Strategic involvement in business decisions. Provide business leadership of segments across a 2000 store retail chain to leverage synergies & business improvements. Develop strategic plans to implement new business models & lead development of new business operational models, plus negotiate business agreements and contracts with 3rd parties for new business initiatives. Partner with cross-functional project teams (global & regional; Marketing, Product, Merchandising, Finance, HR, IT, Operations) in developing & implementing new business initiatives. Lead & develop a high performing team whilst influencing and leading across business and executive functions. Keep abreast of retail, omni & consumer sector innovations & competitive activity within the marketplace and inform executive management team of changes and new developments, which could impact the business. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree (MBA preferred). Experience in Management Consulting Firm with business strategy, business growth & strategy focus 5+ years leadership experience in multi-unit retail or consumer environment. 10 years plus of business development, marketing, and/or sales experience driving new channels / markets. Track record of impressive accomplishments as a business leader. Project management experience, able to identify & marshal resources to accomplish goals. Provide vision, lead, empower others, and exemplify the Sunglass Hut core values and behaviors. Business & Financial Acumen: ability to analyze financial data to evaluate & create strategic choices & options Influence & Negotiate: able to promote ideas & proposals persuasively, win acceptance for new initiatives, negotiate skillfully with 3rd parties; internal & external influence. Strategic Thinking: create & define new business opportunities that align with Sunglass Hut mission, vision, capabilities & capacity.
