Job Overview:
Reporting to the President and Company Founder, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will lead **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in building a meaningful global brand. The CMO will build upon Counter Culture's strong existing brand identity and work with a passionate team to communicate and engage with customers across multiple platforms and mediums including web, print, packaging and social media. Direct reports for this position include Content Manager, Graphic Designer, Visual Designer, and ECommerce Manager.
Job Duties:
Create and maintain company Marketing plans
Develop and periodically update a plan that clearly communicates Counter Culture's path towards becoming a meaningful global brand.
Work with each Wholesale region and Grocery and ECommerce sales channels to develop regional and channel-specific marketing plans.
Work with the management team to create and manage an approved budget.
Lead the Marketing team
Evaluate departmental capabilities and create a 1 year plan and 3 year picture for the department.
Recruit new team members where required to complement existing graphic design, visual design and content management roles.
Ensure new team members are properly trained and equipped with all the tools they need to be successful.
Participate in the product development process
Lead a cross-functional team to execute packaging audits and redesigns.
Develop and execute processes to gather and incorporate customer feedback into new product and service development decisions.
Lead website improvements
Work closely with ECommerce Manager and other departments to implement website enhancements that strengthen our brand and deepen relationships with target customers.
Build rich and relevant content and campaigns
Develop Counter Culture's content strategy and plans for execution in each marketing channel (website, blogs, social media, press, email, printed materials etc.)
Strengthen Counter Culture's unique and compelling voice that will drive awareness, engagement and word of mouth sharing among customers.
Develop annual brand campaigns and work cross-functionally with other departments to execute.
Manage the creation of written content and supporting photography and videography.
Design and produce effective merchandise and collateral
Create branded merchandise to be sold and shared to drive brand engagement and sales.
Develop branded printed and electronic materials to help drive sales success across all of our Wholesale regions and Grocery and ECommerce sales channels.
Develop and execute public relations and event marketing strategies
Develop and own the PR strategy and work towards placements, events, and collaborations that expand Counter Culture's brand presence.
Support regional PR and events activity.
Deliver customer insights
Develop a deep understanding of the different segments of Counter Culture's customer base.
Work closely with the Customer Experience team to build programs that measure, monitor, and improve customer experience across the company.
Use internal and external data to generate insights about customer needs and behaviors and share those insights across the organization.
Create and execute paid media strategy
Develop, implement and measure paid media strategies to drive brand awareness, engagement and sales.
Set goals and monitor progress
Develop marketing department and team member goals.
Identify key performance metrics to evaluate.
Share key metrics to show progress against goals and enable issue resolution.
Other Responsibilities:
Participate in company, educational, and industry events including public speaking.
Lead the coordination of Marketing, Customer Experience, Sales, Operations, IT, Finance and other departments to address marketing issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field
5-7 years experience in brand management for a consumer goods company
3+ years experience direct leadership experience
Excellent understanding of brand positioning
Creative direction experience or experience working with an agency
Strongly Preferred Skills:
consumer package goods and digital marketing background.
