**SENIOR HEALTH ECONOMICS OUTCOMES RESEARCH SPECIALIST**

The **Senior Health Economics Outcomes Research Specialist** will be a critical leader on the Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) team. The Senior HEOR Specialist is responsible for providing analytical and methodological expertise to support the development primary peer-reviewed evidence and internal strategic analyses to support Pain Therapies and RTG Implantables products globally.
**A Day In The Life**
+ Participate in study design, protocol development, analysis, interpretation, and messaging of retrospective analysis of administrative health care claims data with the intent of publication in peer-reviewed medical journals and presentation at clinical and health economics conferences
+ Assist in answering business-specific strategic questions from marketing, business development, value-based healthcare teams, and reimbursement colleagues through primary analysis of internal data sources available and/or through external vendor sources
+ Prepare results of analyses for internal and external presentation; with content and messaging adapted to the audience at hand. Create visually appealing and simple to understand representation of complex analyses
+ Envision, develop and execute other economic evidence generation activities to support our products globally, such as cost-effectiveness modeling and budget impact modeling
+ Partner with field health economic managers and marketing on the translation of published HEOR evidence into development of customer value messaging through the creation of publication summaries, value dossiers, and presentations
+ Perform systematic literature searches using PubMed and/or EMBASE and prepare concise literature summaries with key messages of included literature for use in future study design, reimbursement and marketing materials, and as a general repository specific to economic evidence as related to Pain Therapies products
+ Develop therapeutic area and device-specific knowledge of Pain Therapies published evidence, and apply this knowledge to evidence planning, needs assessment, and study protocol design
+ Network and maintain competencies in critical areas including Medtronic Pain Therapies product knowledge, coding, coverage, and payment for Neuromodulation therapies, national and commercial payer policies and issues, and the general market environment.
+ Designs and implements observational and economic research studies that provide value, perspective and evidence for clinical and/or pre-clinical product portfolio decisions, marketing, regulatory agency submissions, and product reimbursement strategies.
+ Compares and evaluates the value of products and therapies with the clinical, economic, and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and/or epidemiology studies, registries, observational studies, modeling, surveys and meta-analysis.
+ Develops country specific evidence to meet requirements for optimal reimbursement coverage and usage.
+ Works closely with market access to help develop strategies and pricing programs, and standardize best practices.
+ Works with clinical research to add relevant health outcomes and economic endpoints to clinical trials and biostatisticians to analyze and report study results.
**Must Have; Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Minimum 4 years experience in health economics and outcomes research OR Minimum 2 years with an Advanced Degree
**Nice To Have**
+ Advanced Degree in Economics/Health Economics, Biostatistics/Statistics, or Public Health
+ Experience in analysis of large retrospective databases with proficiency programming using statistical software (e.g. SAS, R, or Python), data visualization, graphical presentation, and study report/manuscript preparation.
+ Experience in the healthcare industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, insurance, hospital, or health system).
+ Proficiency in clinical literature searches, literature summary, and medical writing.
+ Proficiency in econometric modeling methods
+ Proven excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills specific to medical literature
+ Proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
+ Experience with Instant Health Data (IHD) software
+ Experience with advanced predictive modeling techniques (machine learning algorithms) and their potential application to retrospective healthcare data
+ Demonstrated business communication and presentation skills both live and remote
