The Senior Product Manager for Infectious Diseases is responsible for the successful planning, definition, introduction and on-going support of OraSure infectious disease products in domestic markets. The Senior Product Manager will focus on the development and execution of the domestic product strategy, develop the market and positioning, engage with key partner and opinion leader networks, and drive the commercial success of the domestic infectious disease business. The Senior Product Manager will identify and develop new market opportunities, develop business cases for investment and drive the domestic product roadmap. Responsibilities Product Life Cycle Provide guidance for product concept, development and realization functions with the intent to maximize revenue, profits, market coverage and other business-defined goals. Provide input, as the voice of customer, through various stages of product definition, prototyping and development, working with cross-business stakeholders and providing clear direction to the product steering group. Manage core teams for product development projects Be a product expert and have thorough understanding of products in order to help manage customer complaints and customer inquiries Develop the Marketing Requirement Specifications for new and current product offerings by analyzing the clinical, economical, regulatory and social trends that drive product innovation and affect product utility. Serve as the product champion, ensuring product performance meets expectations and explore ways for continuous improvement and market adoption. Gather and evaluate customer input, prepare and verify requirements including validation criteria, advise development teams, and promote and champion products internally and externally. Financial Assist in development of 5-year planning targets and assumptions Develop yearly marketing plan and assist in generation of yearly revenue budgets with sales leadership Analyze revenue on a monthly basis to determine trends Analyze sales and revenue metrics to determine trends leading to revenue increases and declines. You should be able to justify projects, create business plans, forecast customer acceptance. Marketing Brand ownership to ensure integrity of brand look, feel and messaging Develop and revise existing collateral with a focus on data to support sales efforts Ensure success of conferences by working with sales and marketing colleagues to develop conference experience Train sales force on a quarterly basis regarding new product introductions, new messaging, and new segments Create integrated digital and direct sales and marketing campaigns utilizing a combination of direct sales force, inside sales, and digital marketing efforts (email, website, webinars, etc) Perform/participate in market research activities such as focus groups, customer interviews, trade shows and professional meetings. Strategy You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, contributing to the strategic vision and making this vision a reality. Cultivate and nurture relationships with Key Opinion Leaders Cultivate and nurture relationships with membership and advocacy organization to help drive product awareness and revenue Ability to read, understand and interpret literature, posters and presentations regarding relevant subjects and incorporate into actionable information within the organization and develop into collateral Develop new segments for sales to target including development of requisite messaging, collateral, targets and expected revenues Additional Ability to work cross functionally with other stakeholders in other departments, including regulatory and clinical affairs, R&D, operations and sales You will act as a liaison between the customer and the scientific and development teams so as to translate clinical need into intuitive and effective tools Qualifications Desired Skills and Experience Requires Bachelors Degree in health, business or science related field. PhD or MBA are highly desirable. 5 years or more experience in product management, marketing, R&D or related function. Prior product management experience in medical devices industry (particularly diagnostics) is highly desirable with a focus in infectious diseases (HIV, HCV, flu). Experience developing KOL networks with Subject Matter Experts and membership associations to drive awareness of product. Existing KOL networks in domestic infectious disease is an asset. Experience working directly with a field-based sales force to set and meet sales targets Experience conducting research studies to help bolster product claims or identify new customer segments Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Thorough understanding of infectious disease space, particularly in domestic US. HIV, HCV and flu are a plus. Understanding and managing skills for the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to release and maintenance Must be able to achieve results in a cross-functional team environment, exhibiting formal and informal leadership skills and strong goal / results orientation Proven track record of results, either contributing to or directly, developing, driving and maintaining high performing product lines and achievement of product growth and revenue budget Ambitious, self-motivated individual with the ability to complete tasks and without significant oversight Ability to travel internationally
