SUMMARY:

Owlet s Regulatory Specialist will be the strategic and tactical lead for Owlet s efforts associated with developing and sustaining Owlet s compliance needs. This includes owning and driving processes to manage compliance with current standards, anticipation of and planning for new regulatory developments, updates and expectations, as well as reportability requirements for Owlet products and markets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing and Product groups to drive a compliance road map for current and future Owlet Consumer Products
  • Research regulations, assemble summaries, present findings, and formulate action plans for new and existing products, and markets to develop a compliance plan
  • Create registration and periodic renewal requirements for standard testing on Owlet products
  • Track updates to regulations/standards governing Owlet products to ensure Owlet is up-to-date with changes and new regulations/standards
  • Research and develop reportability requirements for all Owlet products and markets
  • Develop and enforce Owlet s Materials compliance policy and work with Sourcing, Product and Supply Chain teams to ensure compliance
  • Train internal customers on new and updated regulations, standards, etc.
  • Manage labeling requirements for all Owlet products and markets to ensure compliance
  • Standardize and develop processes, procedures and work instructions for compliance management
  • Complete documentation and technical reports for external customers
  • REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

  • Bachelors Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred with 2+ years of experience
  • Associates degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Experience:

  • Regulatory and compliance management experience in juvenile consumer goods, automotive, medical, or other regulated areas
  • Experience with International regulations and standards, or other exposure to legal, regulatory, etc. disciplines
  • 3 - 5 year(s): Experience in Compliance within a consumer products, consumer appliances, or other electro technical product category
  • Skills:

  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to act independently to solve complex problems
  • Experience writing procedures, and training others
  • Wide range of technical experience/skills
  • Useindependent research toformulate action plans. Present the information and execute actions plans

  • Understanding of database management and report generation a major plus
