The Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs will work with Related's executive and marketing teams across all business lines nationally and internationally to develop proactive strategic public relations plans and tactics to support corporate and divisional business and marketing objective for one of the nation's most prominent real estate development and lifestyle firms.. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to strategically position the company and its diverse global business segments to the media, community, financial and government partners. They will be responsible for organizational messaging, media relations, content creation and storytelling to support earned and owned media, crisis communications, executive visibility and communications. This position will report to Joanna Rose, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs, and will be based in New York, NY.. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. The Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs shall:. Coordinate with executive and marketing teams across all business lines globally to develop and execute strategic public relations plans for Related and its business and marketing initiatives, including individual property initiatives, corporate milestones and financial transactions with all written and verbal communications to the media, community and government partners.. Serve as proactive and crisis corporate spokesperson with media outlets.. Work in close coordination with senior executives to ensure all initiatives are consistent with overall Related brand message.. Develop relationships with key business and consumer press, manage outside agencies.. Take a proactive role in issues management, driving story ideas, and creating informative, persuasive and concise multi-channel communications.. Draft and edit press materials and communications and content for owned channels, including press releases, info-graphics, op-eds, and web, editorial and social copy and content.. Plan and execute corporate and property-specific events as well as speaking engagements on behalf of senior executives and initiatives at Related.. Liaise with communications representatives from outside partners such as tenants, architects and designers, lenders, construction companies and joint venture partners as well as planning organizations, government partners and other stakeholders.. A minimum of 12 years relevant years of experience in public relations and/or public affairs..
