Student Life at Roxbury Community College is inviting highly qualified candidates to be part of our team. Job Description: Coordinates cultural, recreational, and social programming, for all students on campus (i.e. promotes the development, operation, and evaluation of cultural, social, and recreational programming; creates/implements student programs and events; coordinates marketing and advertising of all programs/events; schedules entertainment/activities and reserves use of appropriate facilities/equipment; oversees student activities; recruits students to become involved in college/community activities). Coordinates department activities (i.e. assists in developing/implementing Student Activities budget; assists in developing/implementing department policies and procedures; coordinates department operations, goals, and direction; participates in planning/development and renovation activities relating to department activities; coordinates athletic program activities; coordinates game machine operations). Provides leadership and guidance to college students and student clubs/organizations (i.e. provides advisement for student organizations; formulates/coordinates procedures for student clubs; assists students with interpretation of college policies; develops leadership workshops and provides leadership training for student leaders. Assists student organizations on appropriate fiscal management procedures; assists with development of leadership potential within student organizations; assists in administration of student elections; assists with formation of new clubs and of club activities; recruits faculty/staff for advisory roles with student clubs). Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities (i.e. produces student newsletters, calendar of events, and flyers of campus activities; produces/distributes student handbooks; prepares budget proposals, budget reports, check requisitions, internal requests, payment authorizations, purchase orders, facility requisitions, work orders, press releases, recommendations, planning proposals, election reports, waiver forms, newsletters, calendars, performance appraisals, reports, forms, and general correspondence; receives or refers to attendance records, enrollment reports, student reports, referrals, transcripts, committee reports, budget reports, time sheets, flow charts, diagrams, guidelines, policies, procedures, guidelines, rules of order, manuals, and reference materials; operates a computer and utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, graphics, or other software programs). Interacts with various agencies/individuals (i.e. attends meetings; participates in campus-wide committees and serves in chair/co-chair capacities as appropriate; acts as liaison between students, faculty, and administration; participates in community service projects and education; communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, students, student leaders, faculty members, alumni, counselors, other academic institutions, community organizations, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals to coordinate activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems). Maintains professional knowledge in applicable areas (i.e. maintains a working knowledge of assigned area; maintains current knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local laws/regulations; researches new trends and advances in the profession; reads professional literature; attends conferences, workshops, and training sessions). Requirements: MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States Master's required in Education, Counseling, Psychology or closely related field; with three (3) years' experience and/or training involving college student engagement. Additional Information: The salary will be determined based on the guidelines and procedures of the Massachusetts Community College System and collective bargaining agreement. The position includes a broad benefits package.
