OVERVIEW

Sentry is looking for an exceptionally organized, customer focused individual in search of fast paced work to join our meetings and event team as a Senior Event & Meeting Planner. In this role, you'll manage the event planning process for complex events. You'll meet with Sentry executives to understand specific event and/or meeting needs and serve as the main point of contact for multiple corporate events and/or meetings. You'll provides effective project management of meetings and events, maintain ongoing vendor relationships, and provide high quality internal and external client support.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Lead and implement all aspects of event and meeting planning requirements for corporate events and meetings.
* Ensure timely and effective implementation of all operational aspects of a meeting or event including travel arrangements, ground transportation, facilities and equipment, food and banquet requirements, entertainment, participant activities, recording and photography, awards, promotions, scripts, amenities, gifts, shipping, etc.
* Oversee complex budget development, management and reconciliation while identifying opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings on all events. Create program documentation to include agendas, event portfolios, overviews, and proposals.
* Independently plan and perform site inspections and define selection criteria as it relates to industry best practices. Conduct site research, analysis and provides recommendations. Conduct market analysis to inspect and check for suitable venues, accommodations and transportation facilities.
* Review and edit contracts and proposals from vendors and service providers to maximize efficiencies and ensure compliance with budget and company policies and procedures. This includes hotels, destination management service providers, audio visual support providers, and other vendor as needed.
* Participate in planning and scheduling to establish deadlines and ensure the timely completion of independent tasks, short and long-term projects.
* Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and current vendors used for various events.

WHAT IT TAKES

* Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
* 5-8 years of related work experience
* Experience with large scale events and audio visual production to include video production, audio, lighting and stage detail
* Ability to work within specific time limitations and deadlines
* Superior attention to detail
* Experience managing multiple, complex programs in a fast-pace, dynamic environment
* Proven experience of project management and implementation
* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and human relations skills. Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships within the team, across all levels of management, and members of the Board of Directors.
* Currently holds or is working towards CMP Certification
* Must be available to travel at least 30% of the time, including overnight stays typically 2-3 days; however, this may be up to 7-10 days on occasion
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends, along with participating in industry association events
