The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for writing all marketing messaging, and working with cross-functional teams to develop and execute promotional plans.


  • Write, edit, and approve all marketing copy, including promotions, events, and marketing-led campaigns (e.g. charity, partnerships, media buys, etc.), while staying mindful of current business demands and long-term strategies.
  • Assist Marketing Promotions Manager with execution of promotions, including:
  • Creating Basecamp projects and assigning to-dos
  • Building marketing plans and asset lists with guidance from merch, store and digital teams
  • Recommending strategies that align with business goals and competitive landscape
  • Working with copy team, including Managing Editor and Director of Content, on branding for overarching, multi-channel campaigns
  • Ensuring timely handoff and flawless execution of assets in partnership with web production, digital marketing and store operations teams
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, maximize productivity and reduce room for error
  • Develop solid understanding of competitors, reporting weekly on the retail landscape
  • Work closely with marketing team to concept upcoming campaigns and brand initiatives
  • Provide ad-hoc support of charity program
  • Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a marketing writer in a retail, media or agency environment
  • Meticulous project management, organizational and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of retail metrics and relevant KPIs is a plus
  • Enthusiastic team-player who is able to build trusted relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Eagle-eyed proofreader who cares about the little details and takes typos personally
  • Nimble writer who understands the nuance of different channels, from print to web to social
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between words, photography and graphic design
  • Knack for writing compelling headlines & subject lines

    Bachelors Degree in English, Marketing or a related field.
