The URBN Strategy & Business Development team supports strategic growth within URBNs portfolio of brands, across key and emerging geographies in North America, Europe and Asia, and across the fully built functional enterprise. Working in partnership with the FP&A team, thisteam is accountable for strategic planning, corporate business development and M&A. The Strategy and Business Development Manager will be expected to drive URBNs global omni-channel growth strategies by identifying and evaluating opportunities that leverage existing capabilities in digital and four-wall retail, as well as acquisition/investment opportunities that support the expansion of its brands, global reach and functional capabilities.

Our team works to support the Brandsand Executive suite across three main areas: (1) Brand-specific and URBN-wide strategic projects, (2) URBN-wide strategic expansion globally, and (3) new opportunities in business models and/with M&A. The workload shifts frequently across these focus areas based on enterprise goals and brand needs. Flexibility, tenacity, curiosity, influence skills, and comfort with ambiguity are therefore requirements for success in this role.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of work experience in either retail management consulting, retail marketing or e-commerce strategy, retail corporate development, retail international business development, and/or retailstrategic planning.
  • Qualified candidates must have industry experience in omni-channel retail or digital native brands in the space of apparel and home or beauty.
  • Natural research, problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with sound business judgment.
  • A global mindset in the differences in consumer, economy and business practices; and Intellectual curiosity and a passion for a range of topics within business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be personable yet persistent.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage an ever-changing slate of projects and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong Modeling and presentation skills, with an ability to adjust style for different audiences.

  • Education

    Bachelors Degree required; MBApreferred.
